Well, it's the new year, and of course everyone is making their New Years resolutions... this year I have 2 resolutions: 1. lose weight, 2. quit smoking. I think 'lose weight' has been my resolution for the past, well, 5 years and I've been trying to quit smoking for about 3 years now. But I have a good feeling about this year. Not only do I have the internal motivation, but I also have the financial motivation as well. Bottom line: I need a new job-- a job that pays. As many of you know, I have applied for the NYPD, and may be getting into the Academy in July 09. However, I am in NO physical shape to start the intense fitness regiment that the Academy requires. Therefore, I MUST be successful in completing my 2 resolutions. Currently, I have a job that does not 'pay up'--although I do really positive and beneficial work, I am NOT getting paid for the emotionally strenuous work I do. If I told you my salary, you would laugh and tell me I was joking.... well I'm not. I often have acute anxiety attacks when I think about money I owe, or how I'm going to financially survive on my pay. I can't so this anymore. Therefore, I must fulfill these resolutions.
So, in order to be able to pay down my 2 credit cards and tens of thousands of dollars in school loans I owe, pay my rent on time, and not go w/o 'real' food, I MUST succeed in 1. losing weight, and 2. quitting smoking.
I wish you all luck in fulfilling your New Years resolutions.
Much love.
